Oklahoma Bucks National Trend, Home Prices Rise!

The Atchley Group wanted to share the GOOD NEWS for the Oklahoma housing market that doesn't seem to get the media it deserves.

Government reports are showing Oklahoma's residential real estate market is NOT reflective of what is going on in the national scene where there is declining home prices in much of the country. According to reports from the Office of Federal Housing Enterprise Oversight released last week, home prices increased 2.12 percent in Oklahoma in the July/September period compared with the previous quarter and were up 5.54 percent for the year.

Yes, nationwide home prices have dipped which is the first quarterly decline in 13 years. The same report states that Oklahoma showed a relatively low number of foreclosure filings, amounting to about 1 percent of total households over the last five quarters. Economist Andrew Leventis from the agency said it best, "Some of the price correction we are seeing is an unraveling of excessive price growth that occured earlier. Many of the areas we are seeing the decline are the same areas that had posted the largest increases a couple of years ago during the housing boom."

What do you want to learn from the Atchley Group? Real estate is a local market!

Call us to get details that are about your home, your neighborhood, your school district -- research about how your home stacks up to the market that exist locally is the only way to determine if this IS the BEST time to make a move. Call 330-2626 and ask for a member of the Gary Atchley team at Keller Williams Realty to discuss your options.

Thanksgiving Greetings To All

The Gary Atchley Group is celebrating Thanksgiving 2007 with home buyers and sellers who have purchased or sold homes in the past 12 months. The season is commemorated with a special donation to four local charities to honor and recognize those families and individuals who have been a blessing to our business.

"We are so blessed to have the privilege of working with amazing people who entrust us to serve their real estate needs," says Gary Atchley. "Finding or selling someone's home gives us the opportunity to work hand-in-hand with central Oklahoma's finest!"

This year's Atchley Group Thanksgiving recognition program will benefit Central Oklahoma Habitat for Humanity, City Rescue Mission, Children's Medical Research Institute and Sunbeam Family Services.

"There are so many well-deserving local charities that serve the Oklahoma City community," Gary adds. "These charities seem to focus on what matters most -- serving the needs of families!"
All members of the Atchley Group "encourage everyone" to remember charities in the community that work hard to serve those in need. Funds this time of year are usually stretched so every donation is very important. "We have so much to be thankful for -- join us in donating to charities who really make a difference in our community."

Fun With Furniture Fitter!

There's a new tool on the Turner and Son website that helps you get an idea of how to put your furniture in your new home. It's really fun to try and also very helpful in getting arranging ideas. Furniture Fitter lets you see how your furniture will fit in our most popular floorplans. They're adding new plans all the time, so check back frequently.

Here are a few notes to help you get started:Go to http://www.turnerandsonhomes.com/ and click on the tab that says Furniture Fitter• Click on your preferred floorplan • Select a furniture category from the drop down menu (top left of new page)• Use the rotate, duplicate and delete buttons to manipulate the furniture pieces• Customize the size of any piece of furniture. Select it, type in the new size and click "OK"• Print your furniture arrangement for future reference.

The Furniture Fitter tool is designed to provide a general representation of how furniture can be arranged in a particular floorplan and is not intended to be an exact representation of a specific home.

Looking for Talent!

What a terrific week! We continue to look for talent to work in the Turner and Son Home models in the neighborhoods in Yukon, Piedmont, Deer Creek and Edmond. We have most recently hired Quinn Knight and Debra Gallagher to join the T&SH team as sales associates working in the Hidden Prairie (3100 Fire wheel in Edmond near Kelley & 33rd in Edmond) and Lone Oak Creek (15812 Creek Heights Dr. near NW 164th and Portland Edmond/ Deer Creek Schools) respectively. We are delighted to have these two talent people join the sales team to meet and greet visitors in these communities. Be sure to drop by the Parade of Homes for Central Oklahoma Home Builder’s October 20 to October 28 and meet these folks. We have opening for two more sales people and would love to work with “people-friendly” individuals that really enjoy new homes and talk about Turner and Son Homes. If you are interested in learning more, please call me 405-330-2777 or fax a resume to 405-330-1557. My e-mail would make it easy too --- deb@atchleygroup.com.

Internet Buyers for Homes

The market in Edmond and NW Oklahoma City is getting stronger and more active. Our internet visitors are up 15% since this time last year! If this is an indicator, look out for more activity in home sales in the coming months.

Home Market Strong—Have You Considered A Trade?

Ever wondered about how a new home might improve your quality of life? Turner and Son Homes and the Atchley Group are working together to offer those homeowners that want to “sell the old house” for a “new home” without any hassles a great opportunity. There are details to review to see if your home qualifies, but we have already traded with a great family that moved in Tuesday into the Hidden Prairie community in Edmond. A home trade might not work for everyone, but it might be something interesting to consider! Call Darcy Oviatt 405-285-2856 for more information about this program.

Who has such a job as I do!!!

Having just finished the summer season, I have had the pleasure of working with so many wonderful Buyers and Sellers. Through the transactions, I have gotten to work hard, discuss often and laugh with some of the nicest people around. The Gary Atchley Group truly does get to plant relationships for a lifetime. I just love it!! - Vonna Lovettt, Closing Manager

Hello everyone, it's Mandy, the Marketing Manager for The Atchley Group. Gary has me really busy lately marketing homes that are on the market. I have two to do this week and had one last week also. The last one I did was a really nice home in Edmond, OK in Sonoma Gardens. It's so peacful in that neighborhood! The house is so nice it feels like a new home. It's really open and spacious and even has a beautiful view of the lake behind the home. It's also in a gated neighborhood and the homeowners association even takes care of the lawn. Go to http://www.atchleygroup.com/ for more information on this beautiful home or just give us a call at 330-2626. Have a great day!
