The entrance and front yard to the home, amidst beautiful landscaping, has a wonderful entertaining area.

Guests coming into the home will be welcomed by the dramatic 2-story tiled foyer with interesting architectural features accentuated by a beautiful wrought iron winding staircase connecting the home's 2 levels.

Off the entry, to your right is a library/study with gleaming bamboo floors, built-in bookcase, tall ceilings and a large transom window. To your left is the formal dining room with French Doors leading out to the front entertaining areas. The dining room has a wonderful wine closet with an intricate wrought iron "gate" which will be perfect to safeguard your valuable vintages. The formal dining room and the kitchen are connected by a granite counter butler's pantry which is complemented by glass display cabinetry and warm toned wood storage.

A powder bath is conveniently located just off the foyer for guests.

The great room is the perfect prelude to the home’s unique sense of style and warmth featuring luxurious carpet, marvelous fireplace,~18 foot ceiling boasting 2 ceiling fans with the entire west wall encased in windows, and a door leading out to the very large covered patio. At the apex of the great room's ceiling is a small balcony - but we'll get to that wonder in a moment when we go upstairs.

Opening into a kitchen suited for a king and queen, you will be immediately struck with the intelligent design of this space. Beautiful tile floors surround the very large center island with beautiful granite, a "prep" sink, loads of storage, and the breakfast bar can accommodate casual diners or family and friends joining in the culinary delights that will be emerging from your efforts. Granite is everywhere, the custom cabinetry is delightful and the counter space is endless. The numerous work areas will appeal to those wishing to congregate with the busy chef of the house. The appliance package in this kitchen is considerable! Wonderful stainless steel 5-burner gas stove, built-in stainless steel dishwasher in the center island and a charming "nook" for the microwave. Next to the refrigerator is a convenient granite topped coffee and tea station, perfect for the morning's beverages and handy to the refrigerator for the morning juice. At the west end of the kitchen is the very large and sunny casual dining area - plenty of room for a large table setting that has French Doors opening to a large covered patio area.

Just off the kitchen is the home's "in-law" arrangement. This area has its own “flex room” with an area large enough for any crafts or other endeavors you might want to explore. The very spacious bedroom has its own private bath with granite topped vanity and walk-in closet.

On the opposite side of the home is its masterpiece. The magnificent octagon designed master suite is adorned with recessed lighting in the raised box ceiling and it's own private entrance to the covered patio. This room can accommodate large furniture and still have plenty of space for a sitting area. Words can adequately describe this space - it truly must be seen to appreciate.

A large area, the master bath is sumptuous with an ample step-in shower featuring double bronzed shower heads and a convenient seating space, marvelous whirlpool tub and separate bath vanities with granite countertops including a knee space area.

There are 2 master closets on opposite sides of the master bath offering all the storage one will ever need for multi-seasonal clothing.

Ascending the beautiful staircase, the spacious landing leads to the other bedrooms (which each have their own private baths and walk-in closets), with an intersecting large living area (~28'x14') with a granite topped wet bar, temperature controlled wine cooler and display cabinets.

Going back to the home's second level landing, pause a moment and look down at the massive foyer - wouldn't a baby grand piano be perfect in this spot.

This could all be yours.

Things to remember in a Real Estate market shift

"The Real estate market has shifted drastically and dramatically. Sales volume and the number of transactions have dropped significantly. Inventory has reached an all time high. Buyers have never been more reluctant. Fear is rampant, anxiety is high, and people are getting out of the business left and right. Sound familiar? Sure it does. The year was 1979 and thats what was happening to Gary Keller." Gary Keller, Shift

This is a quote from the beginning of Gary Kellers new book Shift. Deb Atchley is now hostinga book club for all Keller Williams agents and people hoping to be a part of KW. We are on top of working through a market, and leaders like Gary Keller are always helping us break through!

How To Prepare For An Ice Storm!

I hear that OKC is in for an ice storm! I really hate cold weather and I especially hate driving when the roads are icy. So I looked up some tips on how to prepare for an ice storm. I found these helpful tips on http://www.ehow.com/how_2063908_prepare-ice-storm.html.
Step 1: Watch the weather. Notice when conditions present themselves for the possibility of an ice storm. Not all ice storms are predictable, but meteorologists can let you know when conditions are favorable.
Step 2: Prepare an emergency kit with flashlights, batteries, water, non-perishable foods, hand can-opener, a first aid kit, prescription medications, blankets and warm clothes for each member of the family. Make a checklist of things included in the emergency kit. Update the list if you use anything from the kit so you can replace it as soon as possible.
Step 3: Have a charged cell phone ready so you can contact emergency officials. In an ice storm, power may be cut off for several days.
Step 4:Unplug all electrical devices such as televisions, microwaves and computers. If the power goes out, unplug all remaining electrical devices and turn off the main breaker.
Step 5: Get your car ready by filling the tank with gasoline and storing extra blankets in the trunk. Have a first aid kit and an emergency road-side kit in the vehicle also.

5 Reasons Why You Should Buy!

When I was renting a townhouse a few years ago, I couldn't understand why buying a home was such a great idea. I worked here for the best real estate group in Oklahoma, in my opinion, and yet I was still a renter! They kept telling me that I should buy and that renting was just a waste of money. Now I understand. Here are the top 5 reason why buying a home is a great idea!

1. It's a fantastic investment

2. Savings on your taxes

3. Stable monthly housing costs

4. Forced monthly savings

5. Freedom to improve your home

I know there are a lot more reasons why buying is a good idea, but this is just a handful of them. One of the main reasons why now is a great idea is that the interest rates are really low in Oklahoma! So, if you're thinking of buying or selling your home in Oklahoma City, Edmond, Yukon, Piedmont or Guthrie, please call us! We're The Atchley Group of Keller Williams in Edmond, Oklahoma. We'd love to help you, call 330-2626!

My Kitchen

When you live in a smaller home like I do, it's hard to get everything you need into a room without it looking too cluttered. That's my main worry about my house, I don't want things to look cluttered. For example, this weekend I started in the kitchen and took everything off the counters, cleaned everything really well and then decided what I really needed on the counters and what I didn't use very often. Just doing that one simple thing really made a difference! It made me have so much more counter space and also made everything look so much cleaner! Our kitchen has gone through a major transformation. Here are the before and after pictures. The picture below is the kitchen before we even moved in. I think I took this while I was in the house for the inspection. It didn't look bad, but just wasn't my style.

The picture below is kind of during mid-transformation. I had finished painting the cabinets, and walls but the old linoleum flooring was still down and look how cluttered the counters look!

This is my kitchen just taken this morning. We had the old floors taken up and new tile put down. So much better! I completely finished the cabinets and hardware and we put up some backsplash because I thought everything looked too white! I would love to have new counter tops, but they're a little expensive!

If you want any tips on how to de-clutter your home or how to stage it for sale, please call The Atchley Group, we'd love to help you! Call 33-2626 and ask for The Atchley Group!

Searching for a home

Since I've casually started looking online for a home I've noticed some things that I like and don't like about searching. I don't like when there are no pictures! I just move right on past the listing if there are no pictures to show the home. I also don't like when there isn't a map of where the home is. It would be nice to be able to put in an exact area of town that I would be comfortable living in, but on most searches it's not that easy. You just have to weed through all the areas that you don't like. That's where our Buyer's Specialist Heidi Rose comes in handy! She can set up a search specifically to your needs and new results will be send to your email daily. It's so fun to get the email because you know that the new house on the list could be yours! I was set up on a search when we were looking for this house and that's exactly how we found it! So, call The Atchley Group today if you're looking for a home and want to make things a little bit easier. Call Heidi Rose at 330-2777, she's our Buyer's Specialist and she'll take care of you!
